Standing Outside The Fire (1993) - Video Detective This is video of a boy with down syndrome who never gives up. He is running in a track meet. During the race, he falls and gets up, falls and gets up. This young boy is inspiring as he approached his goal....To FINISH! When you write a personal program with goals always remember to set goals that are reachable.
The Personal Program Planning lesson went wonderful! It seemed like everyone
changed their goal perspective outlook. The track and field meet went as planned. Everyone seemed to understand the basic skills to perform at each event. We performed six track and field events. Everyone scored themselves to see where they placed in the class. We reflected on how our goals are different than everyone else's. Always remember when in doubt use the 3 P's.... "Push, Past, Pain."
Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Spain Park High School P.E. program to provide a variety of appropriate activities through instruction that will allow the student to gain cognitive learning, physical skills, and personal or social skills that will provide them to be physically active across their lifespan.

Flexibility and Dance
Flexibility- the range of motion possible around a specific joint or series of articulations.
3 stretches in flexibility: ballistic, dynamic, and static.
1.) Ballistic- bouncing motion
2.) Dynamic- active movements of muscle that bring forth a stretch but are not held in the end position.
3.) Static- extended time, 10-60 seconds.
In the dance portion of our class, each member put together their own 8 count dance. The group then put all of the counts together to form the dance.

Case Study Presentations
What I would like to implement into my program:
1. Respect is the foundation of all rules!
2. You should teach both the student and the athlete.
3. Dress out in school colors.
4. Award extra credit if students go to an extracurricular event in order to keep students involved.
5. If you do not dress out, you have to stand up the entire time.

Kindergarten- 2nd Grade Physical Education Behavior Report
I decided to
put the rules and consequences in the behavior report so the parents would know
our rules and consequences in the classroom. K-2 is using the “smiley face”
procedure, while 3-5 is using “reflection space”.

I would have
the kids’ names on each slot. Each slot would contain the colored faces from
the chart above. I would have blue, green, yellow, and red different colored
faces for the students to change in their pockets.

Dear
Parents and Students,
I would like to be the first
one to welcome you to the new school year here at Spain Park High School! This
will be a new and exciting year. I received my bachelor's degree at
Jacksonville State University in physical education. I am also the cross
country and track and field coach at Spain Park High School.
Teaching
Philosophy: Physical
education is a class that incorporates lifelong skills to learn about healthy
growth and development. I believe that being physically active for a lifetime
is important. The future of physical education is in the hands of new teachers
with new teaching styles. Activities that eliminate students, involve standing
around, and do not encourage students to succeed, must be taken out of present
teacher’s plans.
Course Title: Physical Education Grades

Semester: Fall 2013
Class Meets: Designated Block, Every
Other Day
Teacher: Coach Brick
SPHS Phone Number: 205-690-9607 EXT:23

links with great websites regarding fitness and health. If you have any
questions, concerns, or comments please do not hesitate to contact me.

a variety of appropriate activities through instruction that will allow the
student to gain cognitive learning, physical skills, and personal or social
skills that will provide them to be physically active across their lifespan.
Course Overview: The physical
education curriculum is designed to help students recognize the importance of
regular physical activity. All students are given the opportunity
to select activities. Students are encouraged to select a variety of activities
that include fitness, individual and team activities.

following: syllabus, grading, and lockers. Every class will begin with a
warm-up or a fitness activity. All students will be electing their activities.

walking, basketball, or racquet sports. These activities will be based on the
Alabama Physical Education State Course of Study.

play by the rules in a good manner.

period. Discipline issues may be handled immediately by the teacher by physical
consequences (i.e. push-ups, crunches, jogging extra laps). Students are responsible for getting the note
to the PE teacher.

Requirements: All clothing must allow for safe participation in
the activities. Tennis Shoes are required for all activities. Also, skirts and
